A bit of a showman.

June 22, 2014 by Justin

To anyone who knows me, they know that I am a performer. I love to make people laugh and am the person at a party who skirts about the room to make sure everyone’s drink is full and that they’re having a great time – even when I’m not the host! Maybe that’s why I get invited…more on that later. Anyway, I’ve had a few moments in the spotlight since acting in college and I love it. I want to […]

Job seeker advice from TheWorkBuzz.com

May 24, 2014 by Justin

Since I started with the marketing team as the social media specialist, I’ve written many pieces on job seeker advice for our editorial channels. While you may have seen articles published through MSN or AOL or CNN, most pieces published to our sites – CareerBuilder.com and TheWorkBuzz.com. With those audiences, I could give more of a personalized style. My goal is to be a job seeker advocate, a person who gives our readers a dose of truth paired with realistic advice from a […]

Banana Republic & CareerBuilder Commercial

February 9, 2013 by Justin

As part of our video series we created with Banana Republic, we shot a quick commercial to launch via social and through email campaigns to promoting CareerBuilder’s partnership with Banana Republic‘s ‘Win Your Salary’ campaign over Labor Day 2012. That video alone got over 5,000 views in a little under three days. Sure, it’s no Bieber music video, but I’ll take my viewers as I get ’em. Here’s the blog post we deployed to our users. Props to P3 Mediaworks […]

Writing for MSN Careers

February 8, 2013 by Justin

Since I started with CareerBuilder, I’ve been writing content for both their B2B and job seeker blogs, The Hiring Site and The Work Buzz, respectively. In addition to getting to show a bit more flair in content on those channels, I’ve also been fortunate to write career-related advice for one of CareerBuilder’s largest partners, MSN. A quick search on Google will pull in my published articles there (but I’ve taken care of that search for you right here!), but I figured I’d […]

Clothes horse.

February 7, 2013 by Justin

7:00 pm to 7:00 am. To be fair, I’m sure a 12-hour video shoot isn’t bad for a first timer. But that’s how my first ‘professional’ camera time happened. In partnership with Banana Republic, CareerBuilder created a series of videos for job seekers that paired job search and workplace wardrobe tips from our pals at The Everygirl. When I eagerly & crazily pitched them the idea to create video content, I had no idea what I was in for. All […]

Is it a ‘career’ or a series of jobs?

February 7, 2013 by Justin

Working for CareerBuilder, we constantly struggle to understand job seekers. Do people consider themselves career-oriented or are they just looking for the next job? Truth is, even I’m not sure if I’m looking to map out a career or will know the next step once I hit my own personal plateau. It seems that the days of linear progression and upward climbing are no longer the norm. The career ‘path’ is more like trying to follow a bread crumb made […]
